Glossary of the packaging (χαρτοκιβωτια συσκευασιας)

Because it isn't in every case easy to understand the terms belonging to the field of packaging and coordinations, we offer a glossary of terms used frequently by professionals in this field of movement.

Guarantee band

Printed adhesive tape containing data relating to the receipt of the parcel. Check that the package has not been opened during vehicle.

Checkout

Rectangular inflexible packaging comprising of an assembly of corrugated cardboard panels. Used to ship objects of assorted types. Available in different sizes and thicknesses (flutes).

American box

Standard model corrugated box yet in addition the most used. Used for delivery and moving different objects. Carries the code FEFCO n ° 0201 (international code for cardboard packaging).

fixing

Refers to every one of the materials used to hold an object in a cardboard box and fill the empty space of the cardboard to protect the object from any damage: kraft paper, blocking particles, air pad, move of paper corrugated cardboard…

Flute (single, double or triple)

Refers to the thickness of the mass of a cardboard box made of one or more layers of corrugated cardboard: there might be a single layer of corrugated cardboard then it is called a simple crease , two layers of corrugated cardboard are then called double groove or three layers of corrugated cardboard is then called triple groove .

Corrugated cardboard

Material comprising of one or more sheets of fluted paper glued on two covers, in other words the level faces of the container (in any event). Structure the groove of cardboard boxes. See cover

Lashing machine (or tying machine)

A machine for lashing a package, that is, wrapping it with a tie or tie that has been tensioned to close it. See sheet

Escape

Pallet top

Molding

Operation of covering an item with a package. Just applies to the essential packaging, in other words the packaging in contact with the item. By extension, it likewise refers to the essential packaging.

Air pad (μετακομισεις)

Slow down system comprising of a plastic "pad" filled with air. Keeps objects in place and fills the empty boxes.

Bell cover

Upper piece of a cardboard box used to close it. Is completely independent of the rest of the container because it isn't connected to it by a hinge or other system.

Blanket

Refers to a level face of the cardboard used to cover another paper. For example, the corrugated cardboard is surrounded by two covers to frame a groove. See corrugated board and groove

angle

Piece of cardboard folded at 90 ° to protect the edges and corners of containers and pallets against effect and stacking.

brace

Set of cardboard dividers to be placed in a crate to separate fragile items,  while slowing down them to protect them during vehicle. Several models exist: braces for glasses, braces for plates, etc.

Reel

Mechanical assembly for easily unrolling a move of adhesive tape, protective film, kraft paper, paper towels or a move of strip.

lashing

Plastic, metal or textile tape used to lash and consolidate a package to be shipped or to keep up a heap on a pallet. Generally maintained by staples, clevises or tying buckles. Can likewise be sealed by heat welding. See screed

Bubble film

Protective plastic film comprising of thousands of bubbles, very useful for protecting fragile objects. Is additionally normally known as "bubble wrap".

Stretch film

Plastic film, made of polyethylene or PVC, which can be extended gratitude to a footing force. In a split second returns to its unique size when the effort is interrupted creating a packaging under tension. Very used for packaging pallets.

Therapist film
